Join us for a seder meal on April 1st
Join us for a Passover Seder
Last spring 22 from our fellowship met in two homes to participate in the Passover Seder. This year our fellowship will be joining with St. Mary of the Snow Anglican Church to participate in their Agape Meal, which incorporates the elements of Passover Seder and concludes with an informal Eucharist. This will be led by Father Kevin, pastor at their church. Fr Kevin is a Messianic Jew. He and his wife Jen moved to Eagle River last spring from Israel, where they lived and ministered for 5 years.
Why? “Passover is a story that has been retold for thousands of years. It is a story of miraculous transitions – from slavery to freedom, from despair to hope, from darkness to light. Its greatness is the greatness of God. Its timelessness comes from the eternal truth of His involvement with His people. As God cared for the children of Israel in ancient times, He cares for all who are His today.” (quoted from the Messianic Passover Haggadah) Is it scriptural? “One of Messiah’s last earthly acts was the celebration of the Passover. Gathering His friends in a small room in Jerusalem, (see Mt. 26: 17-19) He led them in a seder. “I have really wanted so much to celebrate this Seder with you.” Luke 22:15. He passed the foods among them. It was there in celebration of the deliverance from Egyptian bondage, that Yeshua revealed to them the mystery of God’s plan of redemption. He spoke to them of His body and blood. He explained to them that He would have to die.” (quoted from Messianic Passover Haggadah)
When? Wednesday, April 1 at 7 pm in the Fellowship Hall of St. Mary of the Snow Anglican Church. To attend, you need to sign up on the sheet in the tile room at God’s Gathering Place. You will receive a ticket for admittance the end of March. There is no cost and all ages are invited to attend. God’s Gathering Place is providing two food items. If you can help by providing 1 dozen peeled, hard cooked eggs see Tina Crosby. She needs 7 volunteers. The
Evangelism-Outreach budget is providing the lamb. What will happen? At the Last Supper, before His arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus celebrated a traditional Passover meal with His disciples. We will re-enact the Passover Meal, sample the traditional ceremonial foods of Passover, and even sing some Hebrew! The meal concludes with a simple Eucharist (Holy Communion), remembering that Jesus instituted the celebration of Holy Communion at this meal. This is free admission but will be a Ticketed Event due to limited capacity. Please sign up in the tile room.

Hope you will be able to join us.
